Values in Education

I read this on Christie's blog and VERIFIED ALL THE INFO!!
I hope it scares you as much as it does me!

With America facing historic debt, multiple war fronts, stumbling health care, a weakened dollar, all-time high prison population, skyrocketing, Federal spending, mortgage crises, bank foreclosures, etc. etc., this is an *unusually critical* election year.
..................................
.
Let's look at the educational background of our two options:
.
Obama:
Occidental College - Two years.
Columbia University - B. A. political science with a specialization in int'l relations.
Harvard - Juris Doctor ( J. D.) Magna Cum Laude (means "with great honor"- his work to get his degree was GREATLY above the average)
...
Biden:
University of Delaware - B. A. in history and B. A. in political science.
Syracuse University College of Law - Juris Doctor (J. D.)

________________________________________________

McCain:
United States Naval Academy - Class rank #894 of 899
"He did well in academic subjects that interested him, such as literature and history, but studied only enough to pass subjects he struggled with, such as mathematics."
...
Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University - 1 semester
North Idaho College - 2 semesters - general studies
University of Idaho - 2 semesters - journalism
Matanuska-Susitna College - 1 semester
University of Idaho - 3 semesters - B.A. in journalism

Thank you for spreading the IMPORTANT word. Education does not always matter....but for the leaders of our country....it should matter A LOT! It demonstrates a lot. AND after all of all of that education, Barack Obama CHOSE to go to Chicago and work to help the families on the South Side. He could have gotten a very high-paying job at a law firm, instead he chose to help others. He amazes me.

AND Obama was a professor - of Constitutional Law! However, you KNOW the general American public disdains "intellectuals" and in the American mind, just going to college is enough to qualify someone as an intellectual! GAAAGH - I can't wait to retire.

From an article by Katha Pollitt in "The Nation," "The last thing we need are more pointy-headed intellectuals running the government." ~ Charles Murray, a man who is in love, truly and deeply in love with Sarah Palin. He is also a man who claims in his book, "The Bell Curve," that people who complain that racism, sexism, etc. holds them back are whiners.
