More Springtime Follies

It doesn't take much for the winter-weary-western New Yorkers to come out and bask in the slightest hint of spring. Any day that's 50+ degrees, we're out playing after dinner. These pictures were taken a few days ago when the temperature hit 65 - we were giddy!

Analise might not be so great at jumping rope but DANG that girl is cute!

Frances loves to demonstrate her jumprope prowess. She has recently mastered jumping backwards and running while jumping rope. It isn't easy being queen.

I garbage picked this thing that Elly is riding on from one of our neighbors - it's her favorite!

Lewis rides this thing so fast, I think he might be able to take flight one of these days.

And lastly, my pretty, pretty prince(ss). Lewie got a buzz this afternoon and the girls jazzed it up with a Snow White headband

It's beginning to look a lot like Springtime

Last Saturday morning I was driving Elizabeth to an appointment in the midst of a blizzard. Eliz had to have a blood draw and we were the only people there! A mere week later we are enjoying a balmy 43 degree morning and looky what I found in the front yard! Yahooie!

This weekend's read

I read Sleep toward heaven this weekend. It's about 3 very different women, a doctor, serial killer and widow, whose lives converge during a summer in Texas. 2 thumbs up.

The Birthday "Twins"

Lewis turned 5 on Sunday. I love the look on his face when he saw the frog cupcakes I BOUGHT for the kids (no worries, I had leftover Texas sheetcake from the party on Saturday night). The he opened his gifts. The only one that mattered was the GIGANTIC Grave Digger monster truck that is about a foot tall - I don't know if it's meant to be ridden on but that's what Lewie does.

Monday was Ellie's birthday. She was thrilled and hyper all day. We had ice cream cake (no sheetcake left). She got a big Dora coloring book, a Superman monster truck, and a purse with little dogs. She couldn't believe it was all for her. This is her first birthday in the US and she appreciates every little thing she has.

Happy Piggy New Year!

We hosted our 2nd annual Chinese New Year party last weekend with 11 little friends and 12 adults. Everyone had a great time. The kids painted piggy banks in honor of the Year of the Pig and we all ate and laughed a lot.

Elizabeth is serious about her work!

Analise was the ultimate hostess.

I have no recall of what they were up to???

Frances' recital!

A tiny slice of the world!
